Riding on the wings of Grafton Records, 2kay is finally ready to release his debut album ‘Waterside Boy‘, (26-02-2012) as he drops a couple of singles to whet our appetite.
‘My Market‘ will definitely make the club houses. Following the new ‘Afro-pop’ sound which has become a routine for Port Harcourt acts, 2kay’s almost-coarse voice sounds well on the Orbeat-produced song.
‘No dulling‘ which takes background instrumentation from US rapper Lil’ Kim’s ‘Lighter’s up’ isn’t a bad cut either. 2Kay professes his love for the streets and how he survives.

Kate Moss Chosen As New Face Of Mango

US super model Kate Moss has been chosen as the face of Spanish fashion brand Mango.

The celebrity hottie who turned 38 on January 16 this year, according to Mango execs, was chosen because ‘she is a world-famous fashion icon, making her one of the most sought-after models in the fashion world’.

Moss already appeared in a video ad for the brand, in which she robbed a store in Paris alongside Terry Richardson.

Moss now joins the likes of Olivia Palermo, Penelope Cruz, Claudia Schiffer and Scarlett Johansson.

MTN Unveils Mobile Money

Towards aiming for the benefits associated with a cashless society, as well as seeking customer satisfaction, one of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications service provider, MTN, has announced ‘a revolutionary product’ called MOBILE MONEY, which eases the stress usually encountered with cash transactions.

This service, in partnership with one of the country’s leading financial institutions, GTBank, is expected to ‘deliver a more convenient means of money transaction between family, loved ones and business partners across the country using an MTN mobile phone’.

MTN Nigeria announced today, that with this new and innovative service, subscribers can

- Send and receive money across the country with your phone.

- Recharge phones by purchasing airtime.

- Pay bills e.t.c.

According to the official statement by the company, ‘Mobile Money is a fast and convenient way of sending money when in an emergency or when paying bills, we have been able to create this new service which will be beneficial to a lot of Nigerians on the MTN network as well as Non-users’.

Diddy To Launch Cable Network

Hip hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is set to blaze a trail in the music television entertainment by launching his own music-themed cable network.

We’re told the new cable network will be called ‘Revolt’, and will target largely the African-American community; and official launching is tentatively set for year end, around December of 2012.

The network will have an estimated viewing base of about 18 million homes.

Television content providers, Comcast, is apparently involved and is even set to launch their own African-American themed network around the same time as Diddy’s.

The richest figure in hip hop, according to recent rankings by Forbes magazine, Mr Combs is also a writer, actor, arranger, clothing designer, and Broadway actor, and oversees a business empire worth about $500 million.

The song still sounds fresh even after three years after release. But the video, directed by Isaac Offei Awuah is certainly played out for an icon like Mr Idibia. Often, his videos portray him in a reflective mood, the concept is ‘overflogged’ and leaves you bored halfway.
It’s still nice to watch 2face in words and pictures though…
